About JSCO

 


 

The Japan Society of Clinical Oncology (JSCO) is a leading Japanese professional organization founded in 1963 that has been committed to advancing the specialty of clinical oncology and promoting a multidisciplinary approach in cancer treatment and care. Its members include physicians and healthcare professionals at all levels of oncology practice.

The mission of the JSCO is to study malignant disorders and achieve progress in the treatment of them.

More than 17,000 oncology practitioners currently belong to the JSCO. The number of members is continuing to increase (Figure 1) and the JSCO is now the largest clinical oncology organization in Japan (Figure 2). Its members are in specialties covering more than 20 diverse fields, and include surgeons, medical oncologists, urologists, gynecologists, radiologists and others.

The 48th annual congress of the JSCO will be held in Kyoto, Japan, this year, and more than 7,700 members took part in the congress last year (Figure 3).
